Guests arrived Wednesday. The boys and I drove up Flagstaff for a gorgeous view of Boulder Valley before an evening that felt more like camp or college than a work night. Thursday morning, waking up, was a little painful, but it was well worth it.
Thursday night, we went to a Chautauqua concert – Bruce Cockburn. I didn’t know his music at all, but it’s hard to pass up a free show at the base of the Flatirons.

Friday night, we headed up to Breckenridge with a stop at Beau Jo’s on the way. Yum!
Saturday, we had one goal: conquer Quandry. Quandry is one of Colorado’s 14ers, and with two lowlanders in tow, we made it to the top. Clouds disappeared, and we had one of the most amazing views!

Sunday, I met the girls for coffee. THAT was a highlight. There’s nothing like laughing and chatting with good friends – and especially when you have one who is back visiting.
The president of International Justice Mission spoke at church, and it was incredibly inspiring. It made me realize how much God cares about the world and justice. Check out his talk here for more. It’ll be well worth your time.
Sunday afternoon, we venture to Fort Collins. Five of us in one car. Free Nickel Creek concert at the New West Fest.

Nasty Mexican food at a restaurant halfway out of town. Moral of the story: Don’t always believe random recommendations for a place to eat, leave when the waiter warns you about flies, and run when the salsa tastes like tomato soup.
All in all – another fabulous Colorado adventure...

Colorado is God's backyard. So, I guess Texas is only part of God's country :).
